Marusei Koi Farm, located in Kawaguchi, Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, stands as one of the world's premier koi breeding establishments. Founded in 1960 by Seitaro Hirasawa and now operated by his son, Yoshiyuki Hirasawa, the farm spans over 100,000 square meters and boasts more than 200 mud ponds, producing approximately 200,000 koi annually.
